Remember, your article on the free throw shootout is due tomorrow in a folder (by class color). Must be 300 words with 2-3 quotes, a lead and a headline.
Aisha is one of four girls in 10c and she was one of the 5 finalist in the shootout of 10c. She went up against all boys. There is alot of contraversary that she did not win fairly because when she shot she jumped over the line. " That was not fair, she wasnt supposed to jump over the line." said Shawn jenkins one the finalist. I think he was just being a sore loser. Aisha won the shootout fair and square. I asked her if i thought she was the best and she said, " No im not, I just had a good day with my shot." She also said, "I dont want to go to the WNBA I dont think I am that good." The boys who are on the basketball team could not hit enough shots to win this competition. Coinsidence I think not I do think she is the best free throw shooter in the class. Aisha is talented in her acedemic and sports. Nobody can tell her she sucks in basketball now because she just beat a class full of boys who are athletes. The class of 10c has always been full of boys and now a girl comes in adn takes a shootout championship from every single one of us.
6 foot plus Julio Rodriguez stands at the free throw line one miss away from giving the figurative nugget Jakeel Coates the “Basketball Shootout” title, the shot rims out “game over” Jakeel screams. The final round of was down to the self-proclaimed best shooters in Mr.Donohue’s 3 period class. However the highest was 70%, a spectator put it best, “It was rocky”, “I’ve seen better”. the five finalists who advanced from an all-out shootout of who can “tickle the twine” were Julio Rodriguez , Jakeel Coates , Jermaine Cameron , Dominique Barker and Timothy Ruiz. These fierce competitors won their division and advanced to the heated title match. Jermaine Cameron led off with a 6 and was impressive, his performance would stand the test by the other competitors. “The way it’s going I’m going to take it all” was Jermaine’s comments after what he thought of as a great performance. He also compared it to LeBron James and Dwayne Wade. Timothy shot a dismal 3 out of 10 witch was “no surprise” said an anonymous source who was in Timmy’s qualifying division. He Called the group neophytes especially Conner Quinn who was , “a mess”. Dominique followed with a performance similar to that of a certain Yankee Third Baseman in the post season. Dominique’s only quotes were full of expletives. The self proclaimed best “baller” Jakeel Coates was up next. Jakeel scored one after another each one filled with taunts as the current leader couldn’t bear to watch. Jakeel ended up draining 7 out of ten witch is remarkable for a pre-schooler. Next up was the oxi moron Julio who is a skinny giant. When asked if he could win Julio gave a simple “I don’t know”. Julio started with a miss and Jakeel screamed “I’m a warrior.” Julio ended up losing with a 4. The tone afterward was disgust but Jakeel felt ,“it was a hard competition to win.”
