i dont agree with Vaccaro's statement becuase the mets are in first place. Also because they are goin to the playoffs. After 21 years i think the mets are going all the way.

Mets Show How Much Pressure They are Feeling.

The Mets are no longer in first place. The Mets are now tied with the Phillies for first place. The Mets lost yesterday 3-0. They might get knocked out of the running for playoffs. I think the Mets will get knocked out of the playoffs.

The article I read was about the marathon in Berlin this weekend. The record was set by Haile Gebrselassie of Ethiopia. The columnist's opinion was that this was a a trial for the NYC marathon next month. I agree with Liz Robbins' opinion because the NYC marathon is the big one that everyone has to win. There is also a $500,000 prize in it.

I feel that Lupica is 100% correct in abusing the mets verbally through this article. The way they played is embarrassing and should not have even been televised, not only did they disgrace themselves, they disgraced the city and the game. From first place to losing at the last chance... a pitiful end for the Mets. Hopefully next year will be a better year for them.

I feel it is a collective failure throughout the team. The pitching didn't step up when necessary...the hitting was quit weak...and the fielding was only decent...and Randolph should have been more forceful as a coach. Granted he was not given admirable pitchers he didn't play his part when needed. The team as a whole needs to truly take a step back and analyze themselves and fix the plethora of problems they have.

I do not think it is Willie's fault that the mets did not make it to the playoffs. It is all the mets fault that they did not make it. They did not play with heart at all and also did not put any effort into what they were trying to do which waz win the nl east title. Also their star player Jose Reyes played poorly in the whole month of septmeber.

i don't think it's the coach fault he did every thing in his power to pepare them for that game but the players were not in the game. wille is not to be blamed for their loss.

[[Division series opener: Matsui at DH ... Damon in left?]]

Matsui hit just .185 in September with two homers hitters. He had a 12 RBI's. Matsui injured his sunday in New York. Matsui hit .274 with eight homers. He also had a record of 23 RBIs in 164 at bats against left handers. I think Matsui is or can be the next big thing. Matsui has a crazy record that stands out and will be noticed.

Anthony Mendez Red,

I don't think the blame should be put on Willie Randolph because it isn't his fault or his actions which led to the demise of the mets this season. It was clearly a result of bad ball play and defensive work on the field.
