For Wednesday: What interests you about the subject for your report about an athlete for Black History Month? What would you hope to convey to others in your report? (Explain in 4-7 sentences)
Acevedo Green I think that Muhammed Ali was a great african american boxer. But what i like the most about Ali is that he was one of the FIRST African American boxer. He won the World Heavyweight Chmpion of his time.
I myself would have picked Muhammed Ali because I have great knowledge of the boxer. As a group Sweetwater Clifton was chosen because we as a group like basketball and like soda. Also for him to be one of the three african to be in the NBA is a great feat for anyplayer.
I think that Muhammad Ali is a great example of a person that many people can learn from. He didnt give up on his dream. He also was a great activist and a great leader. Ali was the first African American boxer and won many fights. I hope to convey to others that Muhammad Ali is the greatest boxer and did alot to help African Americans.
Well personally I would rather have to do Hank Aaron but jus for Conner`s sake I went with Sweetwater Clifton. But that was a good choice too, mainly because of the soda partand my father name was Clifton. Sweetwater was a inspiration to all black people because he sign the first NBA contract.
I have no person that I would choose, but there are many points that I would focus on. The discrimination they faced while trying to change the way society had condemned them, the changes they made, the way they reacted with the constant jeers and threats and the way they survived through it all are all major points that show the effort one makes into changing the way things are for the better.
I think that Muhammed Ali was a great african american boxer. As a group Sweetwater Clifton was chosen because we as a group like basketball and like soda. Ali was the first African American boxer and won many fights.
I would have picked Jack Jonhson because he was the best boxer of his time. He dismenbered the"white Hope" of getting the championship away from him. Plus, despite the threats and allegations of the people at the time he did what ever he wanted. Evem things that would have gotten him killed by law.
