my favorite athlete is Gianluigi Buffon. he was born into an athletic family. He is also a nephew of goalkeeping legend Lorenzo Buffon who is a cousin of his grandfather. the mainreason why he is my favorite because he is the undefeatable goalie of the italy futbol team led them to victory in 2006

i1)In 2002, he led the AL in batting with a .349 average and on-base percentage with .450, again named to the All-Star team.
2)In 2003, he became the fastest player in franchise history to collect 100 home runs in a Red Sox uniform.
3)Ramirez drove a pitch over the left-field wall in Oakland to plate the deciding runs in the fifth and decisive game of the 2003Division Series as Boston completed a comeback from an 0-2 series deficit with a 4-3 win.
4)After the Red Sox attempted to release Ramirez through waivers after the 2003 season, he responded in 2004 with 43 home runs, 130 RBI, and a .308 average, helping Boston return to the playoffs for the second straight season. He then tore through the playoffs, hitting safely in all 14 playoff games to extend his post-season hitting streak to 17 straight.
5)In the 2004 World Series, Ramirez batted .412 with a home run and four RBI to earn MVP honors, the first Red Sox player to receive that award.
